Eventos Culturais

Actualmente os eventos culturais mais significativos da freguesia decorrem no período do Verão, entre Junho e Agosto. Inicia-se em Junho com a realização do Festival Gastronómico do Coimbrão, conhecido pelos populares como as "Tasquinhas", um evento que pretende preservar a gastronomia da região e da freguesia em particular. Também no mês de Junho se realiza na Praia do Pedrógão o Festival da Sardinha.
No mês de Julho, o Rancho Folclórico do Coimbrão, Flores de Verde Pinho, organiza o Festival Anual de Folclore do Oeste, onde se apresentam à comunidade e visitantes, com as danças e cantares da freguesia.
Como acontece em muitas localidades de Portugal, o religioso e o pagão confundem-se. Nos meses de Julho, Agosto e Setembro, ocorrem as festas em honra dos santos padroeiros das localidades que pertencem à freguesia. Mantém-se a tradição, em que após a missa, se realize a procissão, seguida da venda dos andores e termina com baile.
Também decorrem eventos desportivos na freguesia, tais como os campeonatos de futebol distritais, concursos de pesca e também provas automóveis, eventos estes que são dinamizados pelos clubes da freguesia.

Canções

Antigamente, o principal meio de subsistência das pessoas era a agricultura. As pessoas trabalhavam em conjunto, ou como se dizia, em ranchos e era muito comum as pessoas cantarem enquanto trabalhavam no campo e nas terras.
Com a modernização as pessoas foram abandonando a agricultura para se dedicarem a outras profissões e assim os ranchos foram ficando mais pequenos, e foi-se perdendo o hábito de cantar.
Uma das formas encontradas para preservar algumas das canções e também das danças, foi através da criação de ranchos folclóricos. Na freguesia do Coimbrão existiram inicialmente 2 Ranchos Folclóricos: o Rancho Folclórico Flores de Verde Pinho do Coimbrão, fundado em 1960 e o Rancho Folclórico das Tricanas da Praia do Pedrógão, fundado na década de 50 e que terminou as suas actuações na década de 80.
O rancho Flores de Verde Pinho hoje em dia participa em vários festivais a nível nacional e internacional e é um veículo para apresentar a forma de viver na freguesia do Coimbrão há algumas gerações atrás.

Cultural Events

Currently the most significant cultural events of the Freguesia do Coimbrão occurs between June and August. It starts with the Gastronomic Festival of Coimbrão, and event that intends to preserve the gastronomic culture of the region and in particular of the Freguesia do Coimbrão.
Also in June there is the Sardine Fesyival in Praia do Pedrógão.
In the month of July, the Folklore group of Coimbrão, Flores de Verde Pinho, organizes the annual Festival of Folklore of the West, where they present themselves to the community and visitors, with the dances and songs of the Freguesia do Coimbrão, and host other folklore groups from all over the country.
Between June and Sptember there are several festivities, all connected with religion. The tradition as been kept and after the mass a procession is carried out, followed with the sale of some goods offered by people and the festivities end with the dancing moment.
In the freguesia do Coimbão there are also developed some sportive events, such as football games, fishing competitions and automobile races. All these events are run by the local sportive and cultural clubs.

Songs

Formerly, the main subsistence mean of people was agriculture. People worked together, in big groupsand it was very common to hear them sing while working in the fields.
With modernization, people sarted abandoning agriculture to dedicate themselves to other professions, and the groups became smaller and the singing habit got lost.
One of the solutions foound to preserve some of the songs and some of the dances was the creation of Folklore groups. In the freguesia of Coimbrão there were created 2 groups: Rancho Folclórico Flores de Verde Pinho from Coimbrão, founded in 1960 and the Rancho Folclórico das Tricanas of Praia do Pedrógão, founded in the decade of 50 that ended its performances in the decade of 80 of the XX century.
Nowadays, the Folklore group Flores de Verde Pinho in some festivals at national and international level and it’s a a vehicle to present the way of living of the Freguesia do Coimbrão some generations ago.
